Hello, my name is Clay Whipp, I'm 15 years old and I will be going for a year abroad to France with a youth exchange program called Rotary. I'm going to leave on August 27th, and I am extremely excited, I think about my exchange every day. I also am very scared...with things like language and making friends, and school that goes until 6 at night! But I love to speak french, and the food and culture sounds fantastic! I will going to the south east of France to a small town called Château-Arnoux of about 5000 people, but I will attend school in a slightly bigger town called Sisteron. The school's named Paul Arène. As far as my host family goes, I believe I am staying with a family called the Subtils, but it's possible that I may stay with a family called the Buffards (I am still waiting to hear back from Rotary) My town is seven hours drive from Paris, one and half hours from the coast, and one hour from skiing! I am really excited for the Mediterranean Sea, from all the pictures I've seen, it looks like paradise! It's only one month and five days till I leave, and the trip is starting to materialize for me. During these summer days I mostly am lazy, but try to practice my french with my exchange student Pierrick.À bientôt!
